Being Authentic.

I have been thinking a lot recently about what it means to be authentic. and wondering if I am.........
In my personal life their is being authentic, being my kooky self, marching to my own drumbeat. Then there is my "business" self. When I was making wild yam creams with my previous company, I was "dialed in" focused on two particular things. One, preventing the "casual hysterectomy" that was so prevalent at the time. And still is in my humble opinion. "Let's just remove it honey, they say, you are done having children. You can take chemical hormones like Premarin (pregnant mares urine) for the rest of your life. Oh, and your bladder might fall out. But you know, you'll manage" To male doctors I say, "let's cut your balls off dude and YOU take drugs the rest of your life." And to a room full of male doctors I said just that one day years ago, at the time this photo was taken.
When really it might be simple. A simple wild yam cream. Focused hydration. Vitamins and minerals my favorite form being Stinging Nettle infusion. A clean diet with perhaps elimination of foods. Often the hardest part. And very important, making sure by whatever adjustments of eating or habits, getting enough SLEEP. Critical to supporting balanced hormones. (and to great looking skin!!!)
I still find myself deep in conversation with women about "hormone imbalance" including menopause, almost daily. So, I will be sharing my knowledge, locally, at the Mustard in the small town of Newport Tennessee. I look forward to the personal interactions with women and sharing all of the many many things that I have learned over the years. Much of it quite simple to do though sometimes diffiult to initiate.
In business, I find myself supporting women more specifically with skin changes like crepy skin, discoloration, age spots and things like that. In this field it again easy to find a specific problem to address and that is feeling radiant and glowing at any age. Not to focus on "anti-aging" but to embrace the gift of aging. Which it surely is. Don't you think?
Lifestyle, again, plays an important. And supporting the skin with nourishing oils (serums), creams and hydration. Both internally and externally. Afterall the skin is the largest organ of the body. I also believe these products should be attainable to those who choose to focus on natural skincare products. This type of product does not have to cost an arm and a leg.
Hence my skincare line was born. I have been making my own skincare including the Radiant Rose for over 35 years. I got interested in the hyaluronic craze and realized that I could easily create products that are small batch, crafted with care and full of the power and potency of plants!!!
