A bit of news from MedicineWoods and Cynthia's routine for skincare.....

At last I am able to write to you.  It has been a long transition from MoonMaid to MedicineWoods.

This journey has been much more difficult then I imagined it would be.  I miss talking to my customers.  I have been astounded by some of the reactions, both in a positive and negative way.  Yes......some ladies were mad I retired.  I can only shake my head.  I am 68, the pace had become far more then I could keep up with in my apothecary.

The truth I have been looking for a buyer for MoonMaid for 5 plus years.  The fit was never quite right until I met Aaron and Ursula, the new makers.  They are outstanding herbalists with excellent crafting skills.  They will take good care of all the MoonMaid customers.

I am still "talking" about menopause and offering consultations.  After all, I have been talking about this topic for 30 years, I shant stop now just because I am no longer crafting the wild yam products.

What I am crafting are the "skin" products you came to love.  Some of which I had to quit making when the wild yam products shot through the roof.  The rose, dandelion and calendula creams are all back on the shelf.  And the elegant Bliss Line I have been developing for several years now.

This includes a toner, serum and cream.  All with hyaluronic acid and vitamins E and C.  I am often complimented on my skin....even at 68,  To be honest, I never imagined I would give skincare a second thought as I aged.  I always used natural creams that I have made for so long now.  But, I found I did indeed want to use some of the ingredients, that are plant based and easily available.  And much more affordable then you might think, considering the price of these ingredients in Nordstroms etc.  The commercial products may be fine, but they always come with chemincal preservative, often less then ethical practices, all in plastic.....it's not the way it has to be.

Bliss products are all in glass.  They do have plastic lids....because I have not yet been able to find a sanitary substitute in metal.  But I keep looking.  It is my mission to deliver the most affordable, hyaluronic and Vitamin C, A and E products, that you can find.  Handcrafted in small batches with love.  The delightful aromas are essential oils only.  Because, come on, there is no such thing as a "natural fragrance."  There just isn't.

My skin routine is outlined below.  Soon, there will be instructional videos for your pleasure.  For now - remember skincare is self care!!  Do it!!  You deserve it!!!

  • To begin cleanse your face with a warm washcloth.  Water only!!  Please do not ever use soap on your delicate face.  Be sure to get into the corners, Rubbing gently to prevent things like blackheads.
  • Then remove any remaining eye make up with a cottone ball and cream.  It DOES NOT have to be called "eye remover cream."  Any cream will do.....just a dab.
  • Then spritz your face with FlowerPower Toner.   Fan dry or wipe gently with an organic ball.  (if it's not organic, it's bleached and we do not want that near your face.)
  • Now shake your BlueBliss Moisturizing Serum well and roll on all parts of your face, neck and decolettage.  Massage gently.
  • In the evening, follow your Bliss Serum with Bliss Moisturizing Cream.  Dot on 4 corners of face, neck and decolletage.  This creams spreads amazingly well.  A little few dabs will do you.

Now sit back and enjoy the glow of your gorgeous skin!!

Until next time - Cynthia @ MedicineWoods
